Jessica Alba Single Again

After two-and-a-half years together, Jessica Alba and Cash Warren have split. The 26-year-old actress broke up with Warren, a 28-year-old producer, last week over the phone, sources tell Usmagazine.com.

Sources tell Us that Alba, who was abroad over the weekend promoting Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, called Warren on July 22 and told him, "I'm not in love with you anymore."

Within hours, Alba had dispatched an assistant to the L.A. home they shared to pack up Warren's belongings and move him out.

Warren and Alba met on the set of Fantastic Four in 2005, when Warren (a Yale grad) was the assistant to the film's director, Tim Story.

Despite the gap between them on the film industry food chain, the couple were often seen partying at Hollywood events and enjoying romantic vacations from Mexico to Miami.

Just a month ago, Spike TV named Warren the "Luckiest Bastard" of 2007 at their first annual Guy's Choice Awards, due to his relationship with Alba.

But now, a source tells Us that Warren isn't feeling lucky at all and is, understandably, very upset.

The breakup "happened...almost out of nowhere," the source says. "[Cash] thinks it's for another guy but doesn't know....he's totally devastated. But it was all her." (Alba's rep declined to comment.)

In 2005, a few months into her relationship with Warren, the actress told Cosmopolitan magazine that she could see herself settling down with her new boyfriend for good.

“He might The One,” she said in the mag’s March 2005 issue. “The first week that we kind of got together, he gave me a note and signed it with a dollar sign, because his name is Cash. It just said, ‘I really, really like you.’ And that was exactly how I felt at the time.”

Alba admitted that her feelings for Warren scared her because they were so strong. “I hated it because it was terrifying that I cared about him so much right away and I already wanted him to be around forever.”

So who will Tinseltown’s most eligible bachelorette go for next – another average Joe or a Hollywood hottie? Alba may already have a few prospects in mind.

When Cosmo asked the actress to name her celebrity crushes, she replied: “I would have to say Johnny Depp, Michael Caine...Morgan Freeman, and Jake Gyllenhaal.”

Forbes Richest modelsJul 18, 3:33 PM EST

By Kiri Blakeley, Forbes staff

In 1990, supermodel Linda Evangelista uttered what has become the most famous quote in modeling history: "We don't wake up for less than $10,000 a day."

She was referring to herself and fellow supermodel Christy Turlington, both of whom were a core part of the handful of models shaking up the industry by being as famous and powerful as celebrities.

Models did talk shows. They landed movie roles. They inspired franchises (the ill-fated "Fashion Café," which was part-owned by supermodels Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell and Elle MacPherson). They dated or married movie stars (Linda Evangelista and Kyle MacLachlan; Christy Turlington and Ed Burns; Cindy Crawford and Richard Gere). And, of course, they made millions.

Some still do. Gisele Bundchen tops Forbes.com's 2007 list of The Top Earning Models in the World, raking in $33 million, more than triple the $9 million banked by Kate Moss, who came in second. The 15 models on our list were ranked primarily according to estimated earnings over the past 12 months.

A passenger plane has crashed and burst into flames at Brazil's busiest airport, in the heart of Sao Paulo, killing up to 200 people.

Sao Paolo Plane Crash

Rescue crews said none of the 186 people on board the Airbus A320 could have survived, while more people were killed on the ground.

The TAM airliner skidded off the runway as it landed in wet weather, shot over a busy road and hit a fuel depot.

Concerns had been raised about the safety of the runway during heavy rain.

There had been persistent, heavy downpours in the two hours before the accident.
TAM Express flight 3054 was carrying 186 passengers and crew when it attempted to land at Congonhas airport, which is mainly used for regional flights from other parts of Brazil and South America.

After touching down on the main runway at 1850 (2150 GMT) on Tuesday, the jet began to skid and then dropped down a steep slope at the end of the runway.

It then shot over a major road and crashed into a four-storey building used for storing cargo and fuel.

The warehouse was busy with airport workers, some of whom had to jump out of windows.

The plane's tail could later be seen sticking out from the building in flames.

Fires were still burning hours after the crash, with black smoke trailing off into the night sky.

An eyewitness, TAM employee Elias Rodrigues Jesus, said the plane exploded after slamming into the depot.

"All of a sudden I heard a loud explosion, and the ground beneath my feet shook," he told the Associated Press news agency.

"I looked up and I saw a huge ball of fire, and then I smelled the stench of kerosene and sulphur."

A doctor at Sao Paulo's mortuary said 30 badly charred bodies had been brought in.

Sao Paulo State Governor Jose Serra said: "I was told that the temperature inside the plane was 1,000C [1,830F], so the chances of there being any survivors are practically nil."

President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva declared three days of national mourning for the victims.

LONDON (AFP) - Police raided top British clubs Rangers, Newcastle and Portsmouth on Monday as part of a probe into alleged corruption in football.

The three sides admitted they were the clubs involved in the investigation, which also saw the homes of two individuals searched by the City of London Police.

Various authorities have been investigating claims of bribes and bungs in football for several years.

The probe is separate to former Scotland Yard chief Lord John Stevens' ongoing Quest inquiry into alleged irregular transfer payments in the English Premiership.

The City of London Police is running its own probe as it is the national lead force for fraud investigation. No arrests were made Monday, a spokesman for the force told AFP.

"Rangers Football Club was asked to co-operate with the police investigation and have done so," said a spokesman for the Scottish Premier League runners-up.

"We have been requested by police not to comment further while the investigation continues."

Newcastle's owners confirmed the City of London Police executed a search warrant at their St James' Park ground.

"The club itself is not the subject of the investigation," the Magpies stressed in a statement.

"If the investigation by the City of London Police, or the ongoing internal review of operations by the club's new owners, show that the club has been the victim of any criminal activity, the club will take appropriate action."

Fellow English Premiership side Portsmouth admitted they had also received an early visit.

"We can confirm that the police arrived at about 10:00am this morning," said spokesman Gary Double.

"We have co-operated fully with their search and will not be commenting further."

The raids were "in regard to an onging investigation into football corruption by the City of London Police economic crime department", the spokesman for the force told AFP.

"We can confirm that search warrants were served at three football clubs and the homes of two individuals in connection with corruption in football and its impact on owners and shareholders.

"This investigation is a totally independent inquiry.

"It has not been influenced or informed by the Quest inquiry in any way.

"As this is a live investigation, it would be inappropriate to comment further at this stage."

He said the investigation was launched in late 2006. One person has been arrested so far, a 61-year-old man who was bailed until October.

That arrest in May was on suspicion of money laundering and was not related to the main focus of the investigation, he said.

Last month, Stevens, formerly Britain's top police officer, presented a report to the FA Premier League identifying 17 transfers as suspect.

Newcastle boss Sam Allardyce, the "super-agent" Pini Zahavi and the deal which took Didier Drogba to Chelsea were all left facing further investigation.

The report, drawn up following a 15-month investigation, identified five clubs -- Newcastle, Portsmouth, Chelsea, Middlesbrough and Allardyce's old side Bolton Wanderers -- as having acquired players in deals which could not be cleared as legitimate.

But Stevens, who examined a total of 362 transfers for evidence of wrong-doing, concluded there was no evidence of illegal payments to club officials or players and said all the clubs named had fully co-operated with his investigation.

SAN FRANCISCO — Avril Lavigne faces a lawsuit by the members of a 1970s rock band who claim her hit song "Girlfriend" rips off one of their tunes.

Songwriters Tommy Dunbar and James Gangwer alleged in a lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court that Lavigne and her co-writers lifted their 1979 song "I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend," which was originally performed by Dunbar's new-wave band the Rubinoos.

"We are not so naive as to chalk it up to some sort of cosmic coincidence," Dunbar said in a statement Thursday. "The lyric, the meter, the rhythm — they're identical."

The first court date has been set for Aug. 28 in Oakland.

Here is the video comparing Lavigne's song with the Rubinoos' tune.

ERDOS, China (Reuters) - The world's tallest man married a woman two-thirds his size and almost half his age on Thursday in a traditional Mongolian ceremony sponsored by at least 15 companies hoping to cash in on his fame.

World's tallest man

Bao Xishun, 56, a 2.36-metre (7-ft, 9-inch) herdsman from China's vast Inner Mongolia region, was carried to his wedding on the back of a mobile yurt pulled by camels at the Genghis Khan holiday resort on the grasslands near Erdos city.

Hundreds of people, some travelling for hours, turned up to see Bao wed saleswoman Xia Shujuan, a mere 1.68 metres (5 ft 6 inches) tall and just 29 years old.
Draped in a shimmering blue silk coat, Bao waved to the crowd before going into an enormous yurt where guests ate lamb and cheese and watched Mongolian song and dance shows.
"If we can have children, we'll have children," Bao told Reuters before the wedding. "If not, then not. If we have a child, I hope he or she can be 1.8-1.9-metres tall. Then he or she can play basketball."
Xia said she was madly in love.

"You need to have feelings for someone to be in love. Even if he is a big shot, you can't love him without feelings," Xia said.

Bao was confirmed as the world's tallest living man by Guinness World Records last year. He overtook the previous holder, Radhouane Charbib of Tunisia, by just 2 mm.

The Guinness World Records says Bao was of normal height until 16 but then put on a spurt that doctors were unable to explain, reaching his full height in seven years.
He put out marriage advertisements around the world, but ended up wedding somebody from his home town, Chifeng.
Bao and his wife were legally married in March, but wanted to also have an authentic Mongolian ceremony.
After a career in the army, where he was recruited for a basketball team, he returned to Inner Mongolia. He now herds livestock and hires himself out for publicity stunts.
In December, Bao saved the lives of two dolphins by reaching deep into their stomachs with his 1.06-metre long arm to pull out pieces of plastic, according to Chinese media.
Because of his fame, Inner Mongolia decided to turn the wedding into a branding event.

"He has a very good image among us in Inner Mongolia," said Bao's agent, Xin Xing. "We plan to use his name as a brand to develop tourism. We want to better help and serve our hometown."
Everything from the liquor drunk at the wedding to the shoes Bao wore were sponsored by a different company.
One firm made a 2.9-metre blanket of camel hair just for the marriage.
